Dhaka: Bangladesh national women’s team skipper Sabina Khatun has flown to India to play in the Indian Women’s League for the second straight year.

Sabina has signed a contract with Gokulam Kerala FC, a football club based in India’s Kerala state, this year.

Even though the league has already started, Gokulam Kerala made to effort to get Sabina in their team since she had displayed her outstanding football charisma in the same league playing for Tamil Nadu club Sethu FC last year where she was accompanied by her national teammate Krishna Rani Sarkar.

The Indian Women’s League has already rolled on the ground on Sunday, May 5 at Ludhiana Guru Nanak Stadium, Punjab. A total of 14 teams are participating in this season of the tournament.

Sabina’s team Gokulam Kerala FC also played their first match against Rising Student’s Club in the tournament opener.

The club will face their other group stage contenders on May 7, 9, 11, 15 and 17.
