Dhaka, August 11: Defending champions Abahani were held to a goalless draw by Team BJMC in the ‘Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League 2017’ at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Abahani could have scored two goals to grab three whole points, but luck did not favour midfielders Emon Babu and Landing Darboe as both their efforts in the 3rd and 38th minute returned from the crosspiece.
The sky blue brigade dominated the second half of the match, but the BJMC defence managed to hold them back.
In the dying minute of the game, BJMC’s Pashobaon Mollah’s long drive flew inches over the Abahani crosspiece, much to the relief of the former champions.
