Dhaka: Bangladesh U16 women’s team head coach Golam Rabbani Choton has insisted that winning is his team’s only target ahead of their second match of the ongoing AFC U16 Women’s Championship 2019 qualifiers against Lebanon.

The match between Bangladesh and Lebanon will kick-off at the BSSSM Mostofa Kamal Stadium in Kamlapur, Dhaka at 11:30am on Wednesday, September 19.

Asked about his thoughts on the game, Choton said, “Lebanon is a very good side. They’ve already picked up two big wins. But we aren’t thinking about anything other than a win and three more points.”

“You see, qualifying for the finals is our target. And there is no alternative to going for the win and collect each available point,” he added.

In Group F, Lebanon is the only team that sits behind Bangladesh in the FIFA rankings. The Lebanese are currently ranked 141 whereas Bangladesh are ranked 112.

However, Choton sees no way to sit on his laurels.

“I’ve already said that ranking does not matter. And Lebanon have already proved that by picking up big wins against Bahrain and UAE. We know what Lebanon are capable of. But we’ll play to our strengths and try to pick up three more points,” stated Choton.

The head coach also hinted a change in the starting XI for the match against Lebanon.
